Before the Carolina Panthers played the Vikings, a few players took down to the field for more than just to play ball. I was lucky enough to be in the zone to catch this sight & truly was moved by the emotion. In a massive crowd, in the center of it all, they felt comfortable enough to connect to something bigger than themselves.
Truly beautiful.
Honestly, as much of a fan as I am, I don’t have a clue what each players beliefs are, nor do I need to. Sure they probably are different than my own, but I felt inspired by their dedication to them.
Typically I’m not a fan of public displays of a religious nature, but this was not a recruitment, or in your face my deity is more mighty than yours confrontation, just a quiet moment of connections.
So THANK YOU to Charles Godfrey (& the other players who took the pregame time out). I know it wasn’t meant for show, but it was great. Truly touching.
